Angkor historic site is located in Siem Reap province of Cambodia, more than 1000 years ago. It is a world cultural heritage project, one of the seven wonders of the world, and once the capital of Khmer kingdom. On November 11-16, 2015, I started from Chengdu with the tour group and took part in a 6-day and 5-night tour of Angkor. The travel notes are as follows:

D1, November 11 (Wednesday) preparation: to travel with a group to Cambodia is a landing visa. Tourists only need to bring their personal passport and two 2-inch white background color photos to the airport. No power converter is required. The power supply specifications in Kampuchea are in line with that in Chinese mainland. They all use two hole plugs. Cambodia has a lot of US dollars in circulation. Most of its products and meals are priced in US dollars. We need to bring us dollars in small denominations. I use the way of purchasing foreign exchange through online banking and withdrawing cash from outlets to purchase foreign exchange for $300, and the price of the foreign exchange purchasing card is 1: 6.3708. Cambodian currency, Riel, is not worth money. After arriving in Cambodia, you can exchange it from the tour guide. RMB is also easy to use in Cambodia, so we can prepare more small notes( Send a group of street view photos of Siem Reap to understand the city.

Siem Reap

Double 11 singles day, travel alone. It's said that it's a 6-day 5-night tour. In fact, it's the first day to gather at terminal T1 of Chengdu Shuangliu Airport at 23:30 p.m. After the tour guide picked up the ticket, checked the luggage, checked the border and security, he entered the terminal at 01:00 the next day to wait. Every day, there is a tourist charter flight from Chengdu to Siem Reap. There is only one flight k6988 from Angkor airlines in Cambodia. The on time departure time is 01:45. It takes three hours. In the terminal, Dong Chengying, a female tour guide, explained the relevant matters and took away her passport and photos.

The passengers of a charter plane are divided into several groups according to the level of tour fee. I am in group 1, which is a high price group. I'm in Angkor, Cambodia   Five days and five nights to play five-star group, the group price 4500 yuan (group also gave 4980 yuan), because it is a single, also make up for the single room difference 900 yuan. Our group is the most expensive group to visit Angkor. There is no self funded project in the whole process. We don't go into the shopping mall and stay in the five-star hotel.

Siem Reap City

Siem Reap

Later learned that the choice of high price group is wise. Group 2, which is one grade lower than our group fee, is a 4-star group of 3800 yuan. It will charter a plane to come and return on the same day. The itinerary is exactly the same, but the self financed project is 750 yuan. Not only did not enjoy the five-star hotel rooms, breakfast, swimming pool, garden facilities and other treatment, but also the actual price is higher than us. Even lower, such as the more than 2000 yuan SamSung group, there are more self funded projects. The following are the self financed items charged by the low price group in US dollars: Angkor National Museum 30, little Angkor sunrise 15, Angkor smile performance 45, bengmili 45, Cambodian traditional massage 15, lichishan 50, a total of 150 US dollars, about 955 yuan. In addition, the low-cost group will arrange to enter 6 or 7 stores, such as cosmetics, wood carving, latex, jewelry, silk, duty-free, etc.

D2: November 12 (Thursday)

The plane was two hours late, so we had to stay up all night at the airport and got on the red eye flight. 3: Take off at 45. The flight lasted about three hours, and there was an air meal on the way. It's 06:40 when we arrived at Luoli airport. It's daybreak. And Cambodia time is 05:40, there is an hour difference.

Luoli Airport

Siem Reap is the provincial capital of Siem Reap province of Cambodia, located about 311 km north of Phnom Penh. Siem Reap is the only and important place to visit Angkor historic sites, with a history of 100 years.

Luoli Airport

Luoli airport is not big. Its architectural style is local, with red roofs and sharp corners. After getting off the plane, tourists walk out of the airport directly. Because it was Cambodian airlines that delayed the flight, the airport exempted our visa fee and 10 yuan RMB tip.

Luoli Airport

After leaving the airport, I found a local guide, Zheng Daji, a male guide, who is a local overseas Chinese. In the later itinerary, he was responsible for the explanation. And Dong's Guide from China ran back and forth in several groups. After getting on the group bus, I learned that there were 17 people in our group 1, which was a small group.

Sokalai Villa Resort in Siem Reap

There are Cambodian girls playing the unique musical instrument of Cambodia - xylophone in the hall.

The resort is a lush tropical garden. With the open-air swimming pool as the center, surrounded by a Cambodian style wooden double decker villas, it is very beautiful.

We live in a big room with good WiFi signal, complete facilities and good quality of toiletries.

Sokalai Villa Resort in Siem Reap

No tour is arranged in the morning to make up for the tourists. Start with the breakfast buffet. The restaurant is outside, with an open-air swimming pool on one side and a lotus pool on the other. The restaurant also provides local food and all kinds of Western food, which is quite rich. During our 5-day trip, we did not change the hotel any more. We had buffet breakfast here every day.

Sokalai Villa Resort in Siem Reap

The hotel has not only an outdoor swimming pool, but also an indoor pool and gym. That's the advantage of staying in a five-star hotel. You can come swimming at any time.

In the guide's hand, he changed 50000 Riels (RMB 100) by 1:500, mainly for tipping and snacks. Cambodia is a country that gives tips. The country is poor and the tips are small. Generally, 1000 Riels (2 yuan) are given at a time.

Sokalai Villa Resort in Siem Reap

At 12:00 noon, the whole group gathered in the hotel hall and drove out for lunch. Before going out, I put 1000 Riel tip on my pillow. This is what the tour guide said when taking over the tour. It's purely voluntary and should be put every day. Go to the Hyatt Angkor Hotel for lunch. This is a Chinese restaurant. The group meal is very common.

Let's talk about Cambodia first. Cambodia is a country with a long history and ancient civilization. It established a unified kingdom as early as the 1st century A.D. Since the 1970s, Cambodia has experienced a long war. In 1993, Cambodia entered a new era of peace and development. Cambodia is one of the least developed countries in the world, whose economy is dominated by agriculture and its industrial base is weak.

Angkor temple

Angkor

Cambodia was founded in the second half of the first century AD and went through Funan, Zhenla, Angkor and other periods. From the 9th century to the 14th century, Angkor Dynasty was in its heyday, with strong national strength and developed culture, which created the world-famous Angkor civilization.

Great Angkor

Angkor

The existing Angkor historic site is a complete city composed of palaces, temples, gardens and castles. In 802 ad, King jayawaman II unified the Khmer Kingdom and built the capital on the North Bank of Tonle Sap Lake, named Angkor. Angkor gradually became the religious and spiritual center of the whole Khmer people. After the Thai invasion in 1431, Angkor was seriously damaged and the dynasty was forced to move its capital to Phnom Penh. After that, Angkor was abandoned and gradually submerged in the jungle until a French botanist discovered Angkor in 1860. It took more than 400 years for Angkor historic sites to be "lost" before they could be seen again.

Great Angkor

Angkor

Angkor was the capital of the ancient Khmer kingdom from the 9th century to the 15th century. Angkor was founded in 802 AD and completed in 1201, which lasted for 400 years. Angkor has more than 600 historic sites, covering an area of 45 square kilometers of forest. Among them, there are many exquisite pagodas and many stone reliefs, which are magnificent. In 1992, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee listed the entire Angkor site as a world cultural heritage site, together with the great wall of China, the Taj Mahal of India and the Borobudur of Indonesia   Known as the four wonders of the East.

Angkor temple

Angkor

According to reports, not only Cambodia, but also the whole world's understanding and description of Angkor's heyday came from one book. Cambodia has a history of about 2000 years, but the recorded history is only about 500 years. Before the sudden disappearance of Angkor civilization in Cambodia, all the relevant descriptions were written by a Chinese named Zhou Daguan. Zhou Daguan was a geographer in Yuan Dynasty. In February 1296, he was ordered to go to Zhenla (today's Cambodia) and arrived in Angkor, the capital of Zhenla, in July. After returning, he wrote the book of Zhenla's local customs. It describes the heyday of Angkor. Later, the book was translated into many languages, becoming a precious international historical document and the only real-time record of ancient Khmer. Zhou Daguan's travel notes reveal Angkor's Millennium smile, which is a great contribution.

Angkor

Travel after dinner. At noon, the temperature was very high and hot, reaching 34 degrees. The best time to visit Angkor is from November to February,   The rainy season is from June to October. We should try to avoid traveling in the hot season from March to May. We are still too early. We take the air-conditioned bus to visit the "Queen's Palace" which is the farthest from Angkor scenic spot. It's about 50 kilometers and an hour's drive. Along the way, you can see the real Cambodian countryside, markets and vendors, indicating the backwardness of Cambodia.

Siem Reap tourist centre

The tour guide will take us to Siem Reap tourist center to buy tickets. The ticket system of Angkor historic sites includes one-day ticket (US $20), three-day ticket (US $40), seven day ticket (US $60), etc. tourists can enter and leave n scenic spots without restriction after buying tickets.

Siem Reap tourist centre

In the tourist center, tourists take photos in front of the window, and then the tourist center prints the photos on the tickets. The printed tickets should be kept by tourists every day and checked in the scenic spot. If the ticket is lost, it cannot be replaced. Once found without tickets, a fine of $80. We bought a 3-day ticket for group purchase. We punched three holes on the edge of the ticket according to the date, which means that we can travel for 3 days with the ticket (two days of itinerary are not within the scope of Angkor scenic area).

Siem Reap tourist centre

14: 20, we arrived at the Queen's palace, known as the "Pearl of Angkor historic sites". Visit for one hour. The Queen's palace is the only temple in Angkor famous for its exquisite reliefs. Its exquisite reliefs and gorgeous colors are the best stone carvings of all temples in Angkor. It is also the peak of Cambodian art. Therefore, it is also known as the "diamond of Angkor art". However, the gate of the Queen's palace scenic area is very simple. With a few pieces of wood in one column, two or three staff members can check the ticket. Later, when I went to other scenic spots, I found that the tourist facilities of all the scenic spots were very poor. The gate was as simple as a few wooden gates, not like the grand gate of domestic scenic spots.

Queen's Palace

The Queen's palace, built in 967 AD and 1048 ad, is a flat temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Unlike the blue sandstone used in most of Angkor's historic sites, all the building materials of the Queen's Palace are red, made of pink stone, volcanic stone and sandstone. Because the Queen's palace is built of Khmer's unique red clay with a lot of water, the color is extremely gorgeous, and it is conducive to carving complex and delicate patterns. After the completion of the palace, it becomes extremely hard after air drying, which is not bad for thousands of years.

Queen's Palace

The Queen's palace is small in scale and square. It faces east in the West. There are three walls inside and outside. The existing main buildings include three central towers and two Sutra pavilions. There is an entrance to the East and west of the Queen's palace, and the East is the main entrance.

Queen's Palace

On the front door there are magnificent sculptures of Vishnu sitting on the elephant god. The sculptures of the Queen's Palace are related to the two Indian epic chapters of Ramayana and Mahabharata. All the lintels and external walls are covered with exquisite carvings.

Queen's Palace

After entering the door is the first floor, there is a long road, which is flanked by "phallus" stone pillars. The stone pillars standing on the outside were originally the building of the corridor.

Queen's Palace

The small temples on both sides of the road are very dilapidated.

Queen's Palace

Entering the second floor, there is a passage paved with stone slabs in the middle.

Queen's Palace

Almost every inch of the Queen's palace is full of complicated patterns. The following is the most exquisite stone carving of the Queen's palace. The guide explained it in detail.

Queen's Palace

The carving of the Queen's palace is very elaborate and complicated. The carving on the main road and the broken lintel of the temple on both sides corresponds to a corresponding fairy tale.

Queen's Palace

Outside the second wall, you can see that the Queen's palace is surrounded by walls and moats. The guide said: the charming spirit lies in the second wall.

Queen's Palace

Out of the second floor, to the moat. In Angkor's temple buildings, there are moats.

Queen's Palace

Entering the third floor is a T-shaped temple. In order to protect the site, the central area is surrounded and visitors are not allowed to enter.

Queen's Palace

In the middle is the main altar, Three Pagoda shaped shrines juxtaposed on a platform more than 1 meter high. The highest one in the middle is dedicated to Shiva, the Brahma to the South and Vishnu to the north. All three are the main gods in Indian mythology. The pagoda has five layers, each of which is decorated with various statues of gods and ghosts. The pagoda base, the shrines on both sides and the gate tower are also various relief sculptures, most of which record the life scenes of the ancient Khmer people and the fighting scenes against foreign invasion.

Queen's Palace

On both sides of the main altar, there is a sutra Pavilion. On the right side is the story of Kama, the God of Shiva's love; On the left is the depiction of the "dark god", that is, the God of war Krishna, who killed the tyrant Gansha. The relief on the mountain wall reproduces the spectacular scenes in the epic of Ramayana, which can be studied well.

Queen's Palace

The Queen's palace, built in the 10th century, fully demonstrates the superb carving skills of Angkor period, with exquisite and vivid depictions, representing Angkor people's artistic talent and enthusiasm for religious belief. The religious creation, culture and art of the Queen's palace far exceeded that of the European Renaissance for more than 400 years.

Queen's Palace

Every lintel, every stone pillar and every relief of the Queen's Palace are shaped with clear lines. Under the setting sun, they are charming and lifelike. In particular, on the four walls of the temple, the goddess tivada, known as the Oriental Mona Lisa, has beautiful posture, smooth lines, plump chest and curly waist, which is not inferior to the world-class masterpieces. French artist Rodin once described it as: amazing beauty!

Queen's Palace

The Queen's palace has a very prominent statue of monkey sitting in the corner of the palace. The four monkeys knelt on their left knees and squatted on their right knees, as if they were having a little meeting. It's very interesting.

Queen's Palace

The sun is high in the sky, the hot sunlight sprinkles on the red sandstone, and the three towers are like burning flames under the sunlight. Because of this, there is a saying that Angkor is blue and the Queen's palace is red.

Queen's Palace

Not far from the Queen's palace, it belongs to the "rolos site group" of Angkor civilization. The luoluoshi site group was built in the 9th century, mainly composed of luolei temple, Bakong temple, Shenniu temple and other sites. Rolos site is the oldest site in Angkor Dynasty, which is known as the beginning of Cambodian classical art.

Lolei

16: 00, visit luolei temple for 30 minutes. Luolei temple was built in 893 AD and 1122 ad. it is a flat temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, more than 100 years earlier than Angkor and Angkor.

Lolei

The scenic spot of luolei temple is very small. It is a ancestral hall composed of four towers. It was built by King Indra Bama I in memory of his parents. The four towers are made of building materials such as tiles and red bricks.

Lolei

Luolei temple is in danger. It can only be described as a dilapidated state. Some towers are under repair.

Lolei

There is a relatively new temple beside the luolei temple.

Lolei

Down the slope of luolei temple is the school, but there are many young monks playing.

Lolei

In the parking lot, I saw a toot car. The so-called Dudu car is a motorcycle with a trailer that can carry guests. It has two seats and four seats. It is the main means of transportation in Siem Reap. Dudu car safety factor is not high, behind the two wheeled trailer is no brake. There are few taxis and buses in Siem Reap, and the scenic spots mainly rely on Dudu buses.

Lolei

In each scenic spot, there are many Cambodian girls peddling such things as gauze scarves, net bags, postcards and clothes. If the tourists don't buy things, the children will ask for money and read in Chinese: the family needs to buy food and medicine, and give some money. As soon as tourists pay, there will be a lot of children asking for money, but it's not much to give 1000 Riels to a child.

Lolei

17: 00 to Bakong temple, visit time 40 minutes. Bakong temple was built in 881 ad, 1134 years ago. It is a pyramid temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

Bakong Temple

Bakong temple is the largest site in the luoluoshi site group and the first multi-storey temple mountain in Angkor site, which opened the architectural style of Angkor Dynasty in the form of temple mountain. Bakong temple is also the first Angkor temple to use sandstone stones instead of red bricks, so it is of great significance.

Bakong Temple

Bakong Temple used to be a large temple in the center of the city. It was a five story square golden altar with a side length of 65 meters at the bottom. The base point of each story was the original tower gate, and a pagoda stood at the top center.

Bakong Temple

Bakong temple is larger and more complete than Shenniu temple and luolei temple. There was a moat outside the temple, but it has dried up. Visitors enter from the east tower gate, walk up the stone ladder and look back to see a new school not far away.

Bakong Temple

According to experts' research, the vast majority of Angkor's buildings are built by the method of stone piling, that is, the carved large black stones (weighing up to 8 tons) are built one by one. The same is true of Bakong temple. There are too many relics on both sides of the stone ladder.

Bakong Temple

Bakong temple was once the site of the Early Imperial Palace. The five step tower symbolizes the sacred mountain "Xumi mountain" in Hinduism.

Bakong Temple

Hinduism believes that the center of the universe is a Xumi mountain, so Bakong temple is represented by a five step golden altar. There are lions and elephants on the steps.

Bakong Temple

In the distance there are several towers under repair.

Bakong Temple

In fact, the pagoda at the top is similar to a man's penis. Ancient Khmer people believed in Shiva, which was expressed in the most primitive form of penis.

Bakong Temple

Under the sun, the tower glitters, showing the power of men.

Bakong Temple

After visiting, visitors can go out from the west tower gate and return to the parking lot along the circular canal. You can also return to the east tower gate the same way.

Bakong Temple

A school by the aisle is beautifully built.

Bakong Temple

17: 30. Visit Shenniu Temple (also known as bileko Temple) for about 20 minutes. Shenniu temple is named because there are three Shenniu in front of the temple. Shenniu represents the mount of the Hindu god Shiva.

Shenniu Temple

Shenniu temple was built in 879 ad, 1136 years ago. It is a flat temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is the second largest building in the ruins of rolos.

Shenniu Temple

Shenniu temple was built by Indra Bama I in order to worship the ancestors of Shiva and the king. In the early days, it was red brick style, and the building entity was made of brick, but the door pillars, door frames, lintels, statues and stairs had been replaced with stone carvings. So it's a more advanced construction technology than the luolei temple.

Shenniu Temple

Shenniu temple has built six towers engraved with Sanskrit on the high platform, which has become the most remarkable feature here. The stone carvings of crouching cow and elephant are very exquisite. The architectural style of the Queen's palace is inherited and developed on the basis of the style of Shenniu temple.

Shenniu Temple

17: 30. Visit Shenniu Temple (also known as bileko Temple) for about 20 minutes. Shenniu temple is named because there are three Shenniu in front of the temple. Shenniu represents the mount of the Hindu god Shiva.

Shenniu Temple

Before 18 o'clock, the sun is getting dark and everything is about to die. After returning to Siem Reap City, have a buffet dinner at mondian restaurant.

Mondian Restaurant

Mondian Restaurant

Most of the dishes are of Cambodian style, rich in flavor. You can also enjoy the authentic "Khmer dance" during the meal.

However, the rhythm of Khmer dance is very slow. After eating half of it, one dance is not finished. Back to the hotel after dinner.

Mondian Restaurant

D3:   November 13 (Friday)

Breakfast is on the hotel buffet. In order to respect the local beliefs and customs, the top should have sleeves, not shoulders, and the bottom should be over the knee. You can't wear too much. 8: 00 to Angkor. Angkor, also known as Angkor capital (also known as Tongwang city), is the capital of Angkor Dynasty in ZhenLa kingdom. Angkor was built in the 12th century, more than 800 years ago. Angkor has a square wall surrounded by a moat. Visitors to Angkor have to change to medium buses. In Angkor Dynasty, the most luxurious means of transportation was the king's war elephant, so the size of the city gate was tailor-made for the king's "luxury car", so the door opening was very small.

Tongwang City

Our car goes in at the South Gate of Angkor city and goes out at the north gate. Angkor is a square city, protected by the city wall and moat. The city wall is 8 meters high, with five gates, 20 meters high. The gate is a tower structure, and each tower has four Buddha statues. There is a bridge outside the gate connecting the city and the outside. On both sides of each bridge, there are 27 2.5-meter-high kneeling stone busts in a row, symbolizing both gods and demons.

Tongwang City

Visitors can ride an elephant from the gate to the Bayon temple in the center of the city.

Tongwang City

Angkor   Thom) in the late 12th century, it was the most magnificent capital in the history of Southeast Asia, with a population of more than one million at its peak. Angkor was destroyed many times in the war, then rebuilt several times, and finally abandoned in 1426. Angkor means city in Sanskrit, and Thom means big. A million people were really a big city in those days.

Tongwang City

There are a lot of buildings in Angkor, such as bayong temple, Bafang temple, air palace, steps of King Mang, steps of war elephant, tower of zodiac, etc. The bayong temple in the center of the city is carved with four Buddha statues, known as "Khmer's smile". We   8: 30, start to visit, visit time 2 and a half hours.

Tongwang City

At the edge of the passage into Angkor City, there are a group of geese.

Tongwang City

Visitors can walk up the wooden ladder to every corner of Angkor.

Tongwang City

The peak of Angkor building community was in the period of King jayabama VII, the most powerful Khmer kingdom. At this time, the national strength of Angkor Dynasty reached its peak, with its territory reaching the coastline in the East, western Myanmar in the west, southern Laos in the north, Malay Peninsula in the South and almost the whole Indochina Peninsula in the south.

Tongwang City

Angkor city covers an area of nearly 9 square kilometers. It is the last national capital before the end of the glorious era of Angkor civilization. According to Zhou Daguan's Zhenla Fengtu Ji, at the end of the 13th century, the city of Angkor was prosperous and bustling, with magnificent buildings, which was no inferior to the city of the Yuan Dynasty at that time.

Tongwang City

Angkor is a square city with one kilometer long outer wall. It is a comprehensive complex of palaces, cabinet offices and ceremonial temples. The great Angkor site can clearly reflect people's sacrifice, trade, expedition, criminal law and so on in Angkor Dynasty.

Tongwang City

Visitors can take a close look at the sculptures in each window, or sit down in front of the window to take photos and savor them.

Tongwang City

Tourists can also walk along the long corridor to feel the time of the year.

Tongwang City

Visit Bayon, the most magnificent building in the city. Bayon is also the most important part of the brother city center of Angkor. Built at the end of the 12th century, Bayon temple is a temple built for itself by King jayabama VII. It is a historic site mixed with Buddhism and Hinduism. It is also the last national temple in Angkor.

Bayong Temple

The whole building of bayong temple is divided into three floors, the lower two floors are square, and the top floor is round. There are 49 pagodas on the top floor. The largest Pagoda in the middle is more than 40 meters high, and others are surrounded by it like stars holding the moon. Each pagoda is engraved with four smiling Buddhas facing four directions, representing kindness, compassion, joy and sacrifice. If you look carefully, each portrait has a different smile style, so you can have a good taste. It is said that every face here is based on the appearance of jayabama VII.

Bayong Temple

Angkor historic site is famous for its "rich real La" and "smiling Khmer". The Bayon temple is even more famous for its "Khmer man's smile", which is comparable to Mona Lisa's woman's smile. The man's face is similar to that of Sakyamuni in Chinese Buddhist temples, with wide forehead, flat nose, big ears, thick lips, eyes slightly closed, mysterious and kind, full of Buddhist dignity and benevolence, and the high unity of man and God. But in terms of delicacy, compared with delicacy, the "Khmer's smile" head made of Jushi is slightly inferior.

Bayong Temple

There are abundant reliefs on the walls of the square cloisters on the lower two floors of the bayong temple. The inner layer is mainly composed of myths and religious stories, such as the image of the sea of milk and Vishnu; The outer layer takes real life as the theme, from the ancient war records to the life of ordinary people, the scenery of Donglisa lake, etc., which are precious historical sites that can not be ignored.

Bayong Temple

In bayong temple, there are many tourists and young girls in Khmer clothes.

Bayong Temple

Angkor city also has the "ancient palace", which is the place of sacrifice“ In the ancient court, there are carved buildings of ancient magistrates and King leprosy“ This is the place for the king to inspect“ "Zodiac Tower" is a place where people used to perform by walking on steel cables in ancient times. We were not arranged to visit Bafang temple, Shengjian temple, battle elephant steps, etc.

Bayong Temple

11: 30 to "tapulen Temple", visit for 1 hour. On the top of the mountain gate is still a four sided Buddha.

ta prohm

There is no gate, no railings, tourists check tickets, along the gravel road. There are many rare trees along the way, such as mahogany, tung oil wood, etc. the guide will stop to explain.

ta prohm

By the side of the road, Cambodian folk bands are playing and selling CDs, actually begging for money.

ta prohm

Tapulun temple was built by jayabama VII for his mother. This temple was built in 1186 ad, 829 years ago, is a flat temple, worshiping Buddhism. At that time, tapulun temple was a temple with the functions of eminent monks, sacrifices, dancers, temples and convents.

ta prohm

Tapulun temple is also known as "the temple of tree roots.". After 500 years of desert, there are huge trees in the gate of the temple, which is regarded as a spectacle, so it is also called "tree holding stone" place.

ta prohm

Tapulen temple is also the main location of the movie Tomb Raider starred by Angelina Julia. The mysterious atmosphere in the tomb, the dark danger in the forest, the strange and strange story, together with the thick banyan tree with wrong roots riding on the vicissitudes of Angkor temple, make the shooting place famous. After the film was shown, there were a lot of tourists. Until now, it is still a must for tourists.

ta prohm

Tapulun temple may be particularly suitable for banyan growth. The century old trees on the walls of the hall and temple are entwined with millennium old stones, which is a wonder. The interweaving and collision of nature and human miracles make it more attractive.

ta prohm

Banyan trees can be found everywhere in the front and back courtyards of tapulun temple. They are like big snakes winding around the huge roots of historic sites. They can only be supported by tripods.

ta prohm

This is the location of the treeback scene in Tomb Raider. Whether it is outside the building, or inside the building, the front and back of each door are different landscapes.

ta prohm

The ruby in the center tower and the surrounding gold are all lost, leaving only the hollowed out holes. You can imagine what a local tyrant he was.

ta prohm

The interior of tapulen temple is like a labyrinth. Tourists can travel through the historic sites to find the historic sites entangled by the roots, the scenes in the ancient tomb raids, and the Buddha statues wrapped by the historic sites.

ta prohm

Walking around the outer wall of tapulen temple, the walls are covered with moss, and there are many iconic scenes of historic sites wrapped in trees.

ta prohm

Tapulun temple is almost symbiotic with the forest. Everywhere, there are broken walls tightly entangled by thick roots. The branches come out of the cracks in the rocks, fall from the ceiling, wrap the corridor, and even block the doors and windows.

ta prohm

Huge stones are easily pried by tree roots. The tree roots are like a python tightly wrapped around the ruins, just like the scene of giant squid fighting with whales in the sea. The roots of banyan are like the powerful tentacles of squid, twining and strangling huge whales.

ta prohm

Many roads have been blocked by huge rock collapses, so it's easy for tourists to get lost in the temple.

ta prohm

There are crane machines working in the backyard of tapulun temple, but if you want to kill banyan trees, it will not damage the historic temples. I'm afraid it's the most difficult project in the restoration of Angkor Wat historic sites. I hope they succeed!

ta prohm

13: After lunch at barken hill restaurant, go back to the hotel for lunch break. As Siem Reap is very hot at noon, and the main scenic spots are relatively close to the urban area (except the Queen's Palace), the tour group arranges tourists to go back to the hotel for rest at noon after visiting in the morning, and then travel in the afternoon.
