Stockholm, the capital of the kingdom of Sweden, is also the second city of our four Nordic countries team trip. Stockholm is located on the east coast of Sweden, bordering on the Baltic Sea and the entrance of Lake meraren. It is a famous tourist attraction with beautiful scenery. The urban area is distributed on 14 islands and a peninsula, and more than 70 bridges connect these islands, so it enjoys the reputation of "Venice of the north". Stockholm is also the hometown of the great Alfred Nobel. The official palaces of Sweden's national government, Parliament and royal family are located on several islands in the center of the city. We spent a day and a half visiting the main scenic spots and offering a glimpse to the donkey friends.

The top is the parliament, the bottom is the palace, two landmark buildings are located on two adjacent islands;

Built in the 17th century, the Royal Palace of Sweden is a square castle, which is located on the old city island of Gamla Stan surrounded by water;

In front of the front gate of the palace, two stone lions were separated on both sides;

At the door stood several guards in medieval uniforms, who were very dignified and were still on duty today;

At noon every day, the guards hold a ceremonious post changing ceremony. Visitors can buy a ticket to enter the palace through the sentry, visit the gold, silver, jewelry and various exquisite utensils left by the Swedish kings of all dynasties, and watch the numerous murals in the palace.

The streets in front of the palace were fenced to provide the main track for the upcoming International Triathlon;

Above: overlooking the king's garden and the Royal Opera House on the other side of the river from the height of Sweden's King's palace;

Below: the park in front of the Capitol and the red building on the other side is the Swedish National Museum;;

From the west side of the palace, you can pass through the archway of the Capitol on Holy Spirit Island to reach the commercial district on the north bank;

Above: Knight's island church across riksbron street;

Below: the Royal Swedish Opera House is located in Gustav square on the North Bank of the king's palace; The bronze statue of King Gustav II Adolf is vivid( Gustavus II Adolphus (1594-1632) and (1611-1632)) are still regarded as the most outstanding kings in Swedish history;

Queen's Island palace belongs to the Royal territory, 15 kilometers away from the city center. Because its construction is inspired by the French palace of Versailles, it has the reputation of "Sweden's Versailles". It is the first scenic spot in Sweden to be included in the world cultural heritage list.

Queen's Island palace garden attractions include Queen's Island palace, Palace Theatre, China Palace and garden. Queen's Island palace is the core of this royal territory.

The golden age of the theatre was when Gustav III was in power. Later, Gustav III was assassinated at a dance in the theatre, and the theatre was closed. In 1922, it was renovated and performed again as it was before. Now the theatre still performs classical plays.

There is a palace and two pavilions in the kina slot, both inside and outside adopting Chinese and Asian artistic styles.

Prince's former residence is another royal complex. The garden of the former residence is built along the small highland of the Baltic Sea. There are about 10 world-famous bronze copies of sculptures, which are placed in front of the palace, in the flowers, under the shade of trees and beside the path. It's really enjoyable!

A replica of the meditator statue (the meditator is the work of Auguste Rodin, and the genuine bronze and marble sculptures are currently in the Muse é e Rodin, Paris, France).

Prince Eugen does not love power, but has a special love for art and culture, so he is called the artist Prince Eugen. As a member of the royal family, his family background has helped him to collect works of art. At the same time, he is also an outstanding artist.

City Hall is the symbol of Stockholm, located in the city center southwest of the eastern end of King Island on the Bank of Lake melalun; As far as the building itself is concerned, Stockholm City Hall is a building with unique shape and beautiful decoration; As far as the function itself is concerned, the city hall of Stockholm is the same as that of other European cities. It is the place where municipal meetings are held and the official office of the municipal government; However, as the final place of the annual Nobel prizes, it attracts worldwide attention.

The city hall was built in 1911 and lasted until 1923. The main body is made of red brick. The top of the clock tower on the right side is the golden crown representing Denmark, Sweden and Norway. This gold-plated crown, which symbolizes the Kalmar League, has become the most frequently mentioned feature of the city hall. In the bell tower, there is a museum with art exhibitions. The clock tower is 105 meters high, on which you can have a panoramic view of Stockholm city.

The banquet hall in the city hall, known as the "blue hall", is one of the most well-known halls in the city hall. On December 10 every year, the king and queen of Sweden gather here to hold a grand dinner for this year's Nobel laureates. The brilliant light between the columns on both sides of the blue hall and the blue light column in front of the blue hall set off the atmosphere of gathering elites, The blue hall, which has left behind many Nobel Prize winners, naturally has a unique temperament.

Besides the blue hall, another ornate hall, the golden hall, is another famous place of the city hall. The gold hall is 25 meters long, and the murals made of metal and stained glass are the most eye-catching. These murals cost 18 million pieces of metal and glass with the size of 1 square centimeter. The left and right walls take history as the theme, and the left wall narrates and the right wall narrates people, respectively showing the pirate era in Swedish history and other important figures in Swedish history.

In the middle of the front wall is the large-scale legendary goddess of the city, Lake meraren. On the left and right sides of the goddess's feet are ethnic groups from Asia and Europe, implying that Stockholm is the ideal place for people all over the world.

Below is the city hall meeting room

Outside the city hall of Stockholm, there is a wide square near the lake. Beautiful flowers and trees are decorated with fountain sculptures; It happened that on the day of our visit (24 Aug. 2013), the 2013 ITU Triathlon World Championships was being held in Stockholm, and the lakeside of the city hall square was the starting point of the competition;

The triathlon world championship is held once a year, and the top 100 international points players must participate; More than 200 male and female athletes from all over the world will compete for the position and points of this stage( Triathlon consists of swimming in natural waters, road cycling and long-distance running; Swimming 1.5km, cycling 40km, long-distance running 10km, athletes need to work hard to complete the whole race;

Seeing this group of the world's top "iron men" and "iron girls" who are as strong as cattle, I can't help thinking of the pride of fighting against heaven and earth and the hard life of barely having enough food and clothing in the 1960s and 1970s. I feel that today's happy competition among young people in rich countries is to strengthen their body and temper their will;

The end of the competition and the award ceremony will be held at the South Square of the palace;

In 2009, the international railway Federation reformed the existing triathlon competition system, reducing the number of World Cup matches every year and increasing the number of triathlon World Championships series. There are seven competitions every year from April to August. In addition, there are eight competitions in the final finals. The competition not only has higher bonus, but also has higher requirements for the organization of the competition, The host city must have the experience of hosting triathlon and world cup for many times.

Another attraction worth mentioning is the Vasa Museum, which displays the Vasa, a 17th century warship picked up from the bottom of the sea. Vasa was ordered by gustv Adolf II to be built. At that time, Sweden was the target of big powers. In order to guard against the invasion of neighboring countries, gustv Adolf II ordered to build four warships, vasa was one of them.

The figure above is a model and the figure below is a real object;

After completion in the spring of 1628, the ship made its first voyage in August. The weather was fine and everything was normal when it first set sail. However, after sailing 1300 meters, the ship capsized and sank rapidly because of its heavy weight. The sinking was in 333, and it was only in 1961 that the Swedish authorities ordered it to be salvaged. Although the sailing history is very short, the Swedes still regard it as a national treasure, because it presents the shipbuilding technology and art of the Swedes in the 17th century, especially the wood carving skills on the ship.

After more than 300 years of dark seabed, the true face of the Vasa is still basically preserved. After more than 10 years of necessary restoration, the Vasa, which is 60.97 meters long, 11.68 meters wide and 52 meters high, has almost completely recovered to the state it was when it set sail. However, this time, it is no longer a sharp weapon for Kingdom expeditions, but a carrier of remembering history. With the light hand of time, what is left to the Vasa is more than the change of vicissitudes.

The Nordic museum near the vasa shipwreck Museum, unfortunately, I didn't visit because of time;

Sweden is one of the countries with the lowest natural population growth rate, the longest life expectancy and the highest degree of aging in the world. 90% of the population of the country is concentrated in the southern and central regions. Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo are the three most densely populated cities in Sweden. We visited the first two cities and other places on this trip. Let's talk about Stockholm first. Let's take our time in other cities( A series of travel notes (to be continued)
