Leaving Seville, Spain, we drove directly back to the city of Lagos in the Algarve region of Southwest Portugal. The reason why we chose to go to Lagos is that it is closest to the southwest corner of the Eurasian continent, Cape Saint Vicente. We want to go to Cape Saint Vicente to find the feeling of the end of the world.
The car is expected to arrive in Lagos at 7.30 p.m., but Portugal and Spain have an hour difference, so we don't know what time 7.30 means. After the car left Seville, the surrounding scenery became more and more desolate, a bit like the Gobi desert in the northwest. But when we entered Portugal, the green vegetation around us suddenly increased. So Spain is orange to me and Portugal is green.
When we first arrived in Lagos, our first impression was that it was an empty city, so big that there was no one! It's impossible to go to the hotel by bus. If you want to take a taxi, you can't see a car. So we bought some snacks at the gas station to satisfy our hunger. We carried a big bag and planned to walk for 30 minutes to the hotel. Fortunately, Lao Wang buffered the route ahead of time, so we went step by step along the map to the seaside.
To tell you the truth, the city center of Lagos is not big. When you get out of the city center, you can get to the residential area by the sea. They are all villas, but only villas. The light on the road is not very bright, and the sea hidden in the distant night is surging from time to time, which makes my heart feel very unstable.
We followed the map to the location near the hotel, but we couldn't find it. Seeing that a hotel similar to a bar was closed, but the name was not right, we had to start looking around like a headless fly. Later, we saw a four-star hotel with a similar name. We went to ask with a try mentality. Unfortunately, it's not, but the receptionist is very enthusiastic to help us call the owner of the hotel. After the call, they will immediately drive to the hotel to wait for us, and the location of the hotel is just the bar where we stayed for a long time.
After waiting for nearly half an hour, the boss and his wife finally arrived. On the one hand, they apologized and said that it was off-season and the front desk was off work at 6 o'clock. We didn't tell them the time of arrival, so they didn't know when we would come. They let us have a rest at the front desk while they went to clean the room. I didn't expect that this arrangement took an hour. It was almost 12 o'clock before we checked in. When I paid for it, I sent an email asking if I could only pay for one day, because the reservation was for two nights. The boss said no, but we can stay here for two days. Fortunately, the room is not expensive. It's only 15 euro a night, and the average is 60 yuan.
When we got to the room, we were completely shocked. Unexpectedly, the 15 euro one night room turned out to be a sea view villa with balcony and kitchen. There are all kinds of utensils and seasonings in the kitchen! If we have time, we should really stay here a few more days. The only fly in the ointment is that the water heater here is broken, so we can't take a bath. Just after 12 o'clock, we felt that the eggs and instant noodles we bought on the road were cooked for dinner. It was delicious!
It's a very tiring day today. I've been walking for almost 20 hours. So when we lay down, we fell asleep with the sound of the waves.
The next day was a fine day. We slept until ten o'clock. After getting up, the first thing to do is to go to the balcony to see the scenery. It's really great! Together, we're not going to Cape Saint Vicente. Because I have to take the 3 p.m. bus to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Moreover, in Lagos, there is a wonderful view near the hotel!
After walking for nearly an hour, around a golf course, we finally found the blue window. The blue window is the sea stone window formed by the coastal landform. With the protection of rocks, the sea water here is particularly blue.
After leaving the blue window, we had to walk for half an hour to get back to the hotel. We were very tired all the way. Before going back, we went to a supermarket nearby that was only open to the public and bought fast food for heating. When we got back, the boss told us that there was a tennis court. If we want to play, we can borrow rackets and balls for us. He heard that we are all tennis fans, and he specially gave us the souvenir shirt with the hotel logo. He's going to hold an invitational tournament this summer, and we're welcome. I think the conditions for holding an invitational tournament here are quite complete. The accommodation alone has reached the standard. But this tennis court let us down, very pit! The course is simply coated on the concrete floor, and there are all kinds of cracks and pits on the ground. The most important thing is that the Atlantic sea breeze can blow the ball away, and we are afraid that we will hit the ball into the Atlantic without paying attention! In such bad conditions, I and the former Nannong elder brother came to a singles match. They didn't play very well. In the end, I won the seventh and reversed, blowing the horn of rejuvenation!
We're going to pack up and check out before we enjoy tennis. Because we have to walk back to the bus station, the only bus back to Lisbon today. If we miss the journey, it will be disrupted. Today is December 28, 2013, my 11th day in Europe, the third from the bottom. The last stop in Lisbon, what wonderful will be waiting for me?
